This guide will show you how to set up the integration between Addepar and Clarity Security.

A note on provisioning:
Addepar will only provision new users if they have an email domain that matches what was configured in your Addepar tenant.
Configuration steps in your Downstream Application
Step 1: Create a Service User
It is recommended to create a new service user for this integration, rather than use an existing user.
Step 2: Assign appropriate API permissions to the API user
Select Firm Administration from the global navigation bar, and then in the left navigation menu click Users under User Permissions.
From the list of firm users, choose the individual whose permissions you'd like to set.
Click the Permissions tab.
Scroll down to API Access, and select the Create, edit, and delete option.
Step 3: Create an API key and secret combination for the API user
Select Firm Administration from the global navigation bar, select Firm Settings, and then click API Access Key in the left navigation menu.
Click the plus button in the rightmost corner of the table header.
Enter a description of the key (typically the name of the integration it supports).
Click Submit.
Record the key and secret, and store the combination in a secure location.
These will be used in Step 8
Step 4: Find your Addepar subdomain and Firm ID
Your Addepar subdomain while be similar to: https://subdomain.addepar.com. The Firm ID will be a numerical Identifier for your tenant.
Configuring the Integration within Clarity
Step 5: Login to your Clarity Security tenant

Step 6: Click on Applications, then Marketplace
Step 7: Find Addepar
Scroll to or search for Addepar in the list of applications from the marketplace, then click Connect.
Step 8: Connect App
Complete the Connect App form. Details for fields common to all applications can be found at the following article: Common App Configuration Steps
api_key: Generated during Step 3
api_secret: Generated during Step 3
subdomain: https://subdomain.addepar.com Gathered during Step 4
addepar_firm: Gathered during Step 4
Step 9: App Settings
Complete the App Settings form. Details for each field can be found at the following article: Common App Configuration Steps
Step 10: User Settings
Complete the User Settings form. Details for each field can be found at the following article: Common App Configuration Steps
Step 11: Validate Your Selections and Save
Validate the selections from Configure App Step 3, and hit the Save button.
Save
Clicking the Save button will trigger the first full sync for your application (even if you selected Manual syncing). This includes Service Users, Entitlements, Service User Entitlements, Service User Attributes.
