How to Setup the Connector

Step 1: Login and Navigate to Tools/Integrations

Head to the following URL to begin generating API credentials.  You will need to be signed in.

https://www.expensify.com/tools/integrations/

Step 2: Generate partner ID and partner secret

Click the Click Here button (depicted below) to create the API credentials.

The account used to log in must be the owner of the policies in Expensify.

Step 3: Collect the API credentials

Copy the credentials, partnerUserID, and partnerUserSecret; these will be needed in a later step.

These credentials will only be shown once.

Step 4: Log in to Clarity

Login to your Clarity Security tenant.

Step 5: Navigate to Applications, then Marketplace

Click on the Applications side tab, then click on the Marketplace to list all the available connectors.

Step 6: Find Expensify, click Connect

Scroll to or search for Expensify in the list of applications from the marketplace, then click Connect.

Step 7: Connect App

Complete the App Settings form.  Details for fields common to all applications can be found in the following article: Common App Configuration Steps.

  • partnerUserID: Paste the partnerUserID collected from Step 3.
  • partnerUserSecret: Paste the partnerUserSecret from Step 3.

Complete the App Settings form.  Details for each field can be found in the following article: Common App Configuration Steps.

Step 9: User Settings

Complete the User Settings form, check the table at the top to see if any features are unsupported.  Details for each field can be found in the following article: Common App Configuration Steps.

Step 10: Validate Your Selections and Save

Save
Clicking the Save button will trigger the first full sync for your application (even if you selected Manual syncing).  This includes Service Users, Entitlements, Service User Entitlements, Service User Attributes.
