How to Setup the Connector

Step 1: Navigate to HubSpot and get signed in

Step 2: Click Settings

Click the settings icon in the upper right (this looks like a gear).

Step 3: Navigate to Integrations > Private Apps

In the left sidebar menu, locate the Integrations section, and select Private Apps from that list.

Step 4: Click Create a private app

Click the Create a private app button to start creating an app.

Step 5: Fill out Basic Info

Fill out the Basic Info tab using the following information.

  • Name: Provide an App Name Ex: Clarity Connector
  • Logo: Use the placeholder logo or upload one.
  • Description: Enter a description for your App, Ex: Connector application for Clarity Security

Step 6: Add the Scopes

Navigate to the Scopes tab (near the top of the App configuration page), and add the scopes listed below.  Once you have configured the required scopes, click Create app in the top right.

  • settings.users.read
  • settings.users.write
  • settings.users.teams.read
  • settings.users.teams.write
  • settings.billing.write

Step 7: Create a new private app pop-up

Once you hit Create app on the previous screen, you will get a pop-up like the one below; hit Continue creating to continue to the API credentials.

Step 8: Collect the private app credentials

Collect the token from the "Your private app was created" screen; you will need this value later.

Step 9: Log in to Clarity

Login to your Clarity Security tenant.

Step 10: Navigate to Applications, then Marketplace

Click on the Applications side tab, then click on the Marketplace to list all the available connectors.

Step 11: Find HubSpot

Scroll to or search for HubSpot in the list of applications from the marketplace, then click Connect.

Step 12: Connect App

Complete the App Settings form.  Details for fields common to all applications can be found in the following article: Common App Configuration Steps.

  • api_key: Paste the token value retrieved from Step 8.

Complete the App Settings form.  Details for each field can be found in the following article: Common App Configuration Steps.

Step 14: User Settings

Complete the User Settings form, check the table at the top to see if any features are unsupported.  Details for each field can be found in the following article: Common App Configuration Steps.

Step 15: Validate Your Selections and Save

Save
Clicking the Save button will trigger the first full sync for your application (even if you selected Manual syncing).  This includes Service Users, Entitlements, Service User Entitlements, Service User Attributes.
