Identity Type is a configurable field in Clarity that lets you establish
Default Values
Clarity comes with three values preconfigured out of the box: Employee, Contractor, Service Account.
Customize Options
To add new options or adjust the items already configured, head to Settings > Username/Identifiers and then scroll to the bottom of the page.
Adding New Types
To add a new Identity Type simply fill out the bottom most row (which should be blank), then click the + (blue plus sign) to add the new entry. Don’t forget to hit the Save Edits button when you are done adding new types.
Removing Existing Types
To remove an existing Identity Type, simple click the trash can icon, followed by the Save Edits button.
Removing or Changing Identity Types
If you remove existing Identity Types, this will not update the Identities automatically at this time. You will need to visit those Identities and adjust their Identity Type to the correct new value.
Automated Identity Type Setting
Clarity will automatically apply the value of Employee when a new Identity is created during the syncing process for a Source(s) of Truth, this occurs most often when a new user was created downstream and Clarity pick up this change on the following sync.
Non HR Sources of Truth
This means Clarity may automatically apply this value to existing service accounts if you configured your non HR applications to be a Source of Truth.
