Once a request has been **Approved** or **Denied**, it can no longer be cancelled. ## Step by step 1. Go to **Manage Access → Open Requests**, or click the **My Open Requests** card on your Dashboard. 2. Find the request you want to withdraw. It must be one of **your own** requests (or a request you submitted on someone’s behalf) that is still **Pending**. 3. On that request’s card, click **Cancel Request** (the red action at the bottom-right of the card). 4. The request is withdrawn immediately — you’ll see a **“Request cancelled”** confirmation and the card drops off the list. There is no separate “are you sure?” prompt for cancelling, and no reason is required. The request is removed as soon as you click **Cancel Request**. ## What happens next - The request is withdrawn and will no longer be routed to an approver. - It no longer appears in your open requests. No access is granted. - If you still need the access, simply submit a new request — see [Request Access for Yourself (End User)](/home/docs/01-request-access-for-yourself-end-user) (or [Request Access for Others (Manager)](/home/docs/03-request-access-for-others-manager-admin) for someone else). ## Tips & troubleshooting - **I don’t see a Cancel Request button.** The button only appears on **pending** requests that you submitted. If the request was already **approved** or **denied**, there’s nothing to cancel — and requests that are only waiting on *your* approval are handled with **Approve/Deny**, not cancel. - **I cancelled by mistake.** Cancelling can’t be undone, but you can re-submit the same request. - **I want to stop access that was already granted**, not a pending request. That’s a different task — see [Remove Access](/home/docs/08-remove-access). *Related:* [*Overview*](/home/docs/00-access-hub-overview) *·* [*Request access*](/home/docs/01-request-access-for-yourself-end-user) ## 📹 Visual walkthrough A short, captioned screen recording of this flow (each step highlights the control that’s clicked): [Video](https://cdn.document360.io/2d020999-1823-4d4d-b6d2-4b52fb4a9617/Images/Documentation/clip-06-request-cancelled.mp4?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T07%3A16%3A23Z&se=2026-10-27T08%3A16%3A23Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=Xh6aiRUYocDSA9Hi5b8Ka7n8s2uZ8fffmdmXCXuCA9c%3D) **Step by step:** ![Open your Requests](https://cdn.document360.io/2d020999-1823-4d4d-b6d2-4b52fb4a9617/Images/Documentation/06-cancel-a-request-image-tro6v3mk.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T07%3A16%3A23Z&se=2026-10-27T08%3A16%3A23Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=Xh6aiRUYocDSA9Hi5b8Ka7n8s2uZ8fffmdmXCXuCA9c%3D) *Open your Requests* ![Cancel a Pending Request](https://cdn.document360.io/2d020999-1823-4d4d-b6d2-4b52fb4a9617/Images/Documentation/06-cancel-a-request-image-t0amw63m.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T07%3A16%3A23Z&se=2026-10-27T08%3A16%3A23Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=Xh6aiRUYocDSA9Hi5b8Ka7n8s2uZ8fffmdmXCXuCA9c%3D) *Cancel a Pending Request* ![Request Cancelled](https://cdn.document360.io/2d020999-1823-4d4d-b6d2-4b52fb4a9617/Images/Documentation/06-cancel-a-request-image-1d17ogpb.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T07%3A16%3A23Z&se=2026-10-27T08%3A16%3A23Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=Xh6aiRUYocDSA9Hi5b8Ka7n8s2uZ8fffmdmXCXuCA9c%3D) *Request Cancelled*
