ABAC: Attribute-Based Access Control

We’re excited to announce ABAC — a major new capability in Clarity Security! ABAC (Attribute-Based Access Control) expands Clarity’s governance model beyond traditional RBAC. It allows you to define and assign access based on multiple identity attributes — not just a single role. This gives you more precise, scalable, and adaptive access control that matches how modern organizations operate.

With ABAC, identities can:

  • Hold multiple roles simultaneously

  • Inherit access from combinations of attributes

  • Adapt automatically to changes in structure, location, or function — without manual rebuilds

For those actively using RBAC:

  • Existing Roles will automatically migrate into ABAC Attributes and ABAC Profiles

  • Ongoing Role Access Reviews can continue, but no new ones will be generated - instead, create new ABAC Access Reviews

If you have any questions - reach out!

Additional Enhancements:

Access Review Improvements

  • New progress bar for Reviewers

  • Bulk Remediation capability for Remediators

Table Controls

New in ABAC tables:

  • Easier filter, sort, and column visibility options

  • Ability to save specific views (multiple per table, visible only to you)

We’ll be rolling these table controls out across all tables in an upcoming release.

Application Sync Log Enhancements

  • Flags now indicate potential sync issues:

    • Red: Low item counts — no removals applied

    • Yellow: Significant item decrease detected

  • New Info column shows detailed lists of items removed during sync

FTP Integration for App Syncs

You can now connect Clarity directly to your FTP server to ingest app sync files. The Automated CSV app now supports FTP connections to fetch data seamlessly.

Behind the Scenes

We’ve improved the background job queue for faster execution and better prioritization. This upgrade uses a new message queue driver and optimizes performance across different priority queues.
