New Features

First - Improved UAR Workflow

Clarity has introduced a major improvement to the user access review experience when using the details pane.  It’s common that when you are completing a review you might want to view the risk metrics, or the identity or entitlement details when completing the review.  Now it’s possible to complete each review item without leaving the details pane, saving a ton of time and making it even faster and easier to complete a review with all the information at your fingertips.

Each approval or rejection is saved, and navigating to the next item in the list will keep track of the tab you were on, so you can review the same information per item with less clicking around.  We’ve also improved the styling to make it easier to use. We hope you enjoy the improvement.

Improved Table Layouts / Column Controls / Filters

Tables are extensively used in Clarity to show lots of information.  We’ve been improving the consistency of what data is included, and adding additional controls for advanced filtering, sorting, and controlling which columns display in the tables.   Right clicking on any column in any table will provide an advanced menu of additional controls for the table.

Enteprise Access Model OOTB Tagging

Clarity has been a huge fan of the enterprise access model evangelized by Microsoft for a long time, but has always believed it’s been too Microsoft centric.  We are now creating default tags for entitlements that match the enterprise access model tiers, allowing OOTB control of privileged access for all your key systems.

Tier 0 - Access that can create additional access (i.e. Domain Admin)

Tier 1 - Privileged Access for critical systems

Tier 2 - General User Access

Here’s an educational document from Microsoft with more information about the model.

With these new system generated tags, Clarity can immediately answer questions like “who are my critical admins in my infrastructure, and how did they get access to those key resources”.  Because we natively understand the critical Tier 0 and 1 permissions for our connectors, we can provide a starting point for privileged access reviews out of the box.  Better yet, that understanding of privilege isn’t limited to the Microsoft ecosystem.

The first release will support on-premises AD and Okta and edits of the rules that power the tagging.  Clarity plans to add additional systems in future releases (feedback welcome).   Documentation around leveraging the tier tags will be available after the release.

Version 1.6.5.0
