Article summary

This is the most common task in Access Hub: asking for access you need to do your job.

Who this is for: Any business user. You don’t need to be a manager or admin. Where it happens: Manage Access → Request Access (/access-hub/access/request-access). What you’ll need: A reason for the request (justification) and a sense of how long you need it.

As an end user, every request you make here is automatically for you — there is no “select a user” step. (That step only appears for managers; see Request Access for Yourself (Manager).

Step by step

1. Open the Request Access page

From the left navigation, click Manage Access. You’ll land on the Request Access page. The fastest alternative: on your Dashboard, click the Request Access quick action.

2. Find the access you want

Use the Browse available access search box to filter the cards below it. Each card represents a bundle or entitlement group — a named package of access — and shows its name and description.

Don’t see exactly what you need as a bundle? Look for the “All other available access” group, which lets you pick individual entitlements.

3. Choose a duration and add it to your cart

On each card:

  1. Pick how long you need the access from the Duration selector. Options are 24 Hours, 7 Days, 14 Days, 30 Days, 60 Days, 90 Days, or Permanent.

  2. Click Add to Cart. The button confirms the item was added.

Repeat for every piece of access you want — you can request several things in one go. As you add items, a cart indicator appears showing “{n} Item(s) in cart.”

4. Review your cart

Click Review Cart (on the floating cart card) to open the request summary. (Managers see this as a Review Request Cart button near the top of the page.)

The summary panel — titled “Selected Entitlement Request Groups” — shows everything you’re about to submit and lets you finalize the details.

5. Finalize the details and submit

In the summary panel:

  1. Confirm the “Request access for:” section lists you.

  2. Set the Duration. You can either set a duration per item in the table, or check “Set one duration for all requests” and pick a single duration that applies to everything.

  3. Enter a reason in Add Justification. This is required — the Submit Requests button stays disabled until you’ve entered a justification (and every item has a duration).

  4. Review the table of items. You can change an item’s Duration inline or click Remove to drop it from the request.

  5. Click Submit Requests.

The panel reminds you: “Duration of access will start from date of approval.” Your clock starts when the request is approved — not when you submit it.

6. Confirmation

You’ll see a confirmation that your Access Requests were submitted, and your cart clears. Your request is now Pending and routed to the appropriate approver/resource owner.

What happens next

  • Your request goes to the right approver based on your organization’s approval rules.

  • You can track it from the Dashboard → My Open Requests card, or on the Open Requests page (/access-hub/access/open-requests), where you’ll see it under your requests with a status of Pending.

  • When it’s decided, the status changes to Approved (and the access is provisioned) or Denied. The Approved Requests and Denied Requests Dashboard cards take you straight to those lists.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • The Submit button is greyed out. You’re missing something required — most often the justification, or an item that has no duration set. Fill those in and it enables.

  • I requested the wrong thing. Open the cart summary and click Remove next to that item before submitting. If you already submitted, ask your approver to deny it (or submit a corrected request).

  • How long until I get access? That depends on your approver. Nothing is granted until the request is approved — and the duration you chose begins counting from that approval date.

  • Need it permanently? Choose Permanent as the duration.
