Article summary

Withdraw an access request you submitted before it’s been decided.

Who this is for: Anyone who has submitted a request — for themselves or (as a manager) on behalf of someone else. Where it happens: Manage Access → Open Requests (/access-hub/access/open-requests). When it’s possible: Only while the request is still Pending. Once a request has been Approved or Denied, it can no longer be cancelled.

Step by step

  1. Go to Manage Access → Open Requests, or click the My Open Requests card on your Dashboard.

  2. Find the request you want to withdraw. It must be one of your own requests (or a request you submitted on someone’s behalf) that is still Pending.

  3. On that request’s card, click Cancel Request (the red action at the bottom-right of the card).

  4. The request is withdrawn immediately — you’ll see a “Request cancelled” confirmation and the card drops off the list.

There is no separate “are you sure?” prompt for cancelling, and no reason is required. The request is removed as soon as you click Cancel Request.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • I don’t see a Cancel Request button. The button only appears on pending requests that you submitted. If the request was already approved or denied, there’s nothing to cancel — and requests that are only waiting on your approval are handled with Approve/Deny, not cancel.

  • I cancelled by mistake. Cancelling can’t be undone, but you can re-submit the same request.

  • I want to stop access that was already granted, not a pending request. That’s a different task — see Remove Access.
