When a New Access Review Sends Its First Email
Overview
When a new access review starts, Clarity emails each assignee to let them know they have items to review. The email goes out as soon as the review starts, so the send time depends on the start date you pick on the review template.
When the Review Starts
Start Date on the Template | When the Review Starts and Emails Go Out |
|---|---|
Today (or a past date) | Right away, as soon as you save the template |
A future date | Early morning on that date, when Clarity’s daily review run happens (see the times below) |
The daily review run happens at 11:00 AM UTC. That’s the same time for everyone, so the local time depends on your time zone:
Time Zone | Daylight Saving Time (Mar–Nov) | Standard Time (Nov–Mar) |
|---|---|---|
Eastern | 7:00 AM | 6:00 AM |
Central | 6:00 AM | 5:00 AM |
Mountain | 5:00 AM | 4:00 AM |
Pacific | 4:00 AM | 3:00 AM |
Recurring reviews (monthly, quarterly, and so on) follow the future-date rule. Each new cycle starts at the daily run on its start date.
Emails usually arrive a few minutes after the review starts. Larger reviews take longer to build, so their emails may arrive later.
Exceptions
Situation | What Happens |
|---|---|
Delay email notification for assignees is checked on the template | No email goes out automatically. After you’ve checked the items and assignees, select Email Assignees from the review’s actions dropdown. |
The review has no items | No email goes out. The review moves straight to Ready to Finalize. |
Reminder emails are separate from the first email. With the default daily reminder schedule, a new review doesn’t get a reminder on the day it starts.
