Article summary

Give up access you currently hold but no longer need.

Who this is for: Anyone, for their own access. Managers/admins can also remove access from their team members’ accounts (from the My Team’s Access view). Where it happens: The View Entitlements panel, reached from Manage Access → Team Access (/access-hub/access/team-access).

Removing access is different from cancelling a request: cancelling withdraws a pending request; removing takes away access you’ve already been granted.

Step by step

  1. Open your access: Manage Access → Team Access (or the View My Access quick action). See View Your Access for the full tour.

  2. (Managers only) If you’re removing access for a team member, switch the toggle to My Team’s Access.

  3. On the relevant application card, click View Entitlements.

  4. In the View Entitlements panel, remove access one of two ways:

  • Remove a single entitlement

    • Open the Actions menu (the ⋮ icon) on that row and choose Remove.

  • Remove several at once

    • Tick the checkboxes for the entitlements you want to remove, then click Remove Access.

  1. A confirmation dialog appears — “Remove Access” / “Are you sure you want to remove access to the selected entitlements?” (or “…to this entitlement?” for a single item). Confirm to proceed.

  2. You’ll see a “Removing access…” indicator, then the list refreshes with the entitlement(s) gone.

What can and can’t be removed

Not every entitlement can be self-removed. An entitlement is removable only when it can be de-provisioned and isn’t read-only or a base/default entitlement. If you select something that can’t be removed, Access Hub warns you — “One or more selected entitlements cannot be removed.” — and removes only the eligible ones (or nothing, if you picked a single ineligible item).

For access you can’t remove yourself (base access, read-only grants, or anything provisioned by a rule), contact your administrator.

What happens next

  • The selected access is de-provisioned from the account.

  • The entitlement disappears from the access list after the panel refreshes.

  • Changed your mind? Removal isn’t undoable from here — to get the access back, request it again via Request Access (or re-request it from the access view, Re-request or Renew Access).

Tips & troubleshooting

  • The Remove option is missing. That entitlement isn’t eligible for self-removal (read-only, base/default, or not de-provisionable). Ask an admin.

  • I removed the wrong thing. Submit a new request to restore it.

  • I only want to stop a request that hasn’t been approved yet. Use Cancel a Request instead.
